One of my STRINGS SERIES pieces was accepted for the Federation of Canadian Artists' Group Show 2024 Abstracted Exhibition.
My inspiration: While on a holiday, I was able to enjoy several evenings of live instrumental music. I was especially taken by the strings. This not only set a light-hearted mood for my vacation, it inspired me to begin painting a whole series on the subject. I ended up creating about a dozen before I felt I was close to completing the series. . . at least for the time being.
Some of the pieces in my series, like music, are more simple and dynamic while others end up more complex and rich in colour. Even though my style comes through there is a variety of moods. (See below, for example.)
This piece, Strings #4, is the one chosen by the gallery for exhibition. It is one of my more energetic pieces and expresses the happiness and joy that music can bring. If you would like to see this painting in person, the show opens July 8 and runs until July 28th 2024 in Vancouver, Canada.
Venue: The Federation Gallery
1241 Cartwright Street
Vancouver, BC V6H 4B7
If you cannot make it to Vancouver during that time, the Federation Gallery will also be exhibiting it online ALONG WITH ANOTHER one of my paintings! So keep an eye open on the Federation Gallery site for the upcoming show to find out which one!
